Blogging.

It’s such a controversial subject now in days. Experts tell you not to blog, other experts say to blog. So which one is it?

Personally, I love blogging and I love what it has done for me and my business. I have also seen how starting a blog can make money for a business owner (myself included).

If you want to listen to this Expert, I want to show you how a blog is the cornerstone of your business so you can start blogging now.

#1: It helps your message.

It’s hard developing your message and your niche.

There, I said it.

It took me two years to nail down my niche and my message! It’s not easy and I’ve heard that getting your niche down is one of the biggest struggles an entrepreneur's faces and I believe it.

So how does starting a blog help your message? First off, you have to find topics to write about, right? The only way to create content that will get read is by asking who you serve what they struggle with. Once you got that information, you can begin to create valuable content that will benefit your target audience and show off your expertise.

When I began creating my blogs, I found that I had to speak clearly and really write out the details if I wished to communicate what I really wanted to say. I had to work on my message to ensure my target audience was hearing what I was saying clearly.

As I began to do that, my blogs helped me see where my strong suit was and which areas I enjoyed writing about. If I enjoyed writing about content strategy, content marketing strategy, and blogging, then that's the areas I should focus on.

This was a process, so don’t think by blog post #4 you’ll have your message figured out. It takes time, consistency, and lots of tweaking!

#2: Tests what your audience wants.

Remember when I said that starting a blog takes a lot of tweaking? Well, I have found that when I want to test out a paid product idea, I can test it out on my blogging platform.

If I am wanting to sell a paid product, I can write several blog posts about the main topics in my paid product and then see how it does. I can then post onto my social media platforms and see the engagement to determine what my next move was.

I can check my Google Analytics to see how many visitors I got during a certain time period. I can even send out my blog to my email list and see how many opens and clicks I get. This will tell me if enough people are interested in my new idea for a paid product or not.

This allows you to test topics and your message without having to spend time creating a product that won’t sell.

#3: The Expansion of a Blog Post is endless.

You can literally get more bang for your buck (so to speak) when you have a blog. When you have so much content available, all you have to do is find the content and create something new without having to write new content! Basically, you can repurpose your blog as much as you want without having to write another word!

Your blog can be anything from content upgrades to email sequences and speeches to free challenges. You will never lack content! All you need is a marketing strategy that will help your freebies and paid content get seen!

When you have content galore, you can create something new and expand your influence in other areas and offer different products easily and effectively! And you already have a promoting platform thanks to your blog!

Your Blog is the Cornerstone of Your Business
