It's nearly 2018 and you still don't have a WHAT?
That's right, a blog!
I run into so many entrepreneurs who want to start a blog, but they allow every year to go by without actually having one. Then when they do, their blog flops because they are either inconsistent, they didn't plan for a strategy, they are all over the place with their content, or they just sound bad.
For the rest of the year (which isn't that long, you guys!), I am going to lead you through a series of blogs to help you get your blog launched and ready to go! This means, every week until Christmas, you will receive posts that will guide you through the steps to actually writing, creating, and launching a blog for the new year! I thought it would be a nice end to 2017 and a nice beginning in 2018!
Let's get started by showing statistics of what a blog can do for you and your small business according to Express Writers, which listed 52 Blogging Statistics, but I'm going to keep it small on here (click the link to read all 52 statistics though!).
Featuring a blog as a key part of your website will give you a 434% better chance of being ranked highly on search engines.
Written articles, especially “how to” posts, as well as case studies, are the kinds of content that lend blogs the most credibility.
B2B marketers who use blogs as part of their content marketing mix get 67% more leads than those that don’t.
B2B marketers have found blogging to be significantly more time and cost-effective than traditional lead generation methods.
Blogs are trusted sources of information and advice say 81% of US online consumers.
Once you write 21-54 blog posts, blog traffic can increase by up to 30%.
Small businesses that blog get 126% more leads than small businesses that do not blog.
These are just a FEW of what came off of Express Writers website where they listed a whole 52 blogging statistics! If this doesn't make you decide, "I NEED a blog in January!", then I don't know what will get you more excited!
Okay, so I showed you statistics, but what are the benefits of writing a blog consistently? According to Small Biz Trends, here are the benefits that you ought to consider when you are thinking about creating a blog for your business.
Establishes Thought Leadership
Blogging is instrumental in establishing thought leadership. Small firms need it more than their big counterparts. That’s because big companies can spend money and skip intermediate phases in the sales funnel. But small businesses have to pass through them.
Proper content planning can save cost and increase ROI. Brands, both big and small, unnecessarily shell out money due to wrong content planning. Big brands may not keep track of every dime they spend, but small businesses do. Of the factors above, some help brands to understand customer idea feedback. The next step of content planning is drafting the content in accordance with such feedback. Audience reactions can clue marketers in on the acceptability of the posts they publish. Once they garner audience appreciation, they can move on with the accompanying writing style.
Blogging is an excellent way to get noticed by big players. There’s no dearth of platforms if drawing the attention of the big players is on your mind. Admins of third-party B2B blogs will be delighted to publish your posts, provided these posts are useful and offer new information. Then there are publishing platforms like Pulse. LinkedIn is where most of the VC guys are. And they hover over Pulse articles for new insights.
