Have you ever thought to yourself, “I wish I could have a brand new car and pay my mortgage at the same time!”

Or “I wish I could have a peaceful marriage and a successful business!”

Perhaps, “I wish I could write all day long and have money to spend at the end of the day!”

We want to have the best of both worlds, but sometimes it just seems like we only get the best of one world while the other suffers or seems to not be within reach. It doesn’t seem fair or even possible to have the best of both worlds.

I believe that we have the best of both worlds by living a “Yes And” Lifestyle.

This month is called Mindful May, where I discuss how to be mindful on what’s going through our heads. As small business owners, entrepreneurs or writers, we live in our heads and living in our heads has serious consequences. These consequences are: abusing ourselves “verbally”, belittling ourselves, becoming negative, our success is at stake, and we remain stuck. So I decided to address these issues in the month of May, which all started off with It’s all in your head, which really talks about whatever you think will show. If you think, “I won’t make it.” Guess what? You won’t. It’s a good read to remind yourself that your thoughts has power and whatever you think, it will happen.

What is a “Yes And” life?

A “Yes And” life says, “I can have a brand new car, yes and pay my mortgage every month!” Or “I can have a peaceful marriage, yes and be successful in my business!”

It’s all about changing the way we think. Perhaps the reason we don’t have the best of both worlds is because we think we cannot have the best of both worlds.

Have you been stopping yourself from living the best of both worlds? And it all begins with you THINKING you cannot?

This weekend I went to a Gerry Robert event and the speaker, Brain Nieves, was talking about how we feed our subconscious minds. If we think, “I can’t have a happy marriage or a successful business at the same time,” then you are feeding the subconscious mind that.

The way Brain explained the subconscious mind is that the subconscious mind is like a crew on a ship. Our conscious mind is the captain. So let’s say I see the state of my business and the state of my marriage. I’m thinking to myself, “Man, I wish my business was just as successful as my marriage.” I’m basically telling the crew, “This is your captain speaking: I don’t think my marriage and business will ever be in unison, so continue to work on my business and not my marriage.” What’s the crew going to do? The crew is going to work on one and not the other. Your subconscious mind works just like this.

I’m glossing over the details here, but I want you to take away something here: you could be sabotaging a life you are dreaming because you keep telling the crew (your subconscious) to only work on one part of your life instead of both parts of your life.

This is all about mindset. The way you think is the way you’re life will be.

How can a “Yes And” Life help you in this?

By starting to say, “I write all day long, yes and have enough money to pay for all my bills!”

It’s changing your mindset, it’s reprogramming your subconscious and yourself to not only think positively, but also believe that you can, in fact, have the best of two worlds.

Now will your marriage and business become successful overnight? Probably not. But I don’t think that’s the way the world works. When you begin to say “Yes And” to live inside the best of both worlds, two things may happen: You will begin to notice more and more how the two are becoming one (your marriage and business are both successful, you are getting paid more so you can have enough money for a brand new car and pay your mortgage comfortable, you are learning ways to write and have money at the end of the day) and that your world will begin to eventually merge to make your “two worlds” into one (this part may take time, but the more you tell your “crew” that they can have the best of both worlds, the more they will work in your favor).

What are you holding back from living the best of two worlds? How can you begin to live a “Yes And” life? How can you begin to work this “Yes And” Life today?

“I can work from home, yes and get paid plenty to do so!”
