Are you wanting to start a blog for your coaching business?

You know starting a blog for your coaching business will not only help you (from organic SEO to giving you a digital presence), but its a place for your audience to live more empowered lives while reading articles that educates, inspires and shares your heart.

But how do you get visitors when you launch your blog?

You have to build a community and know the strategies to actually launch your blog. There are reasons why a blog launch is important and out of my three plus years of blogging, over 200 blog posts written, I can tell you that I have made plenty of mistakes when I didn’t launch my own blog. I don’t want you to make the same ones I did.

If you want to know how to get ready for a blog launch, I have a whole article about the things you need to have in place before your blog is published and you can read that here.

Here are 3 reasons why taking the time to launch your blog can be a game changer for you and your coaching business.

1) Begin building a community now (even when you don’t have one yet)

When you become serious about starting a blog, you will need to gain excitement about your blog and topics you are going to cover. Even if you don’t have a list, this is the best time to start one!

If you read the post I wrote about the Guide to launch your coaching blog, then you know you need to have an email subscription service ready. This will be the place where you’re going to send people VIP access to help you form your blog, poll your new-found audience for topics, and show them what you’re working on.

You can even build a community using social media, which I wrote a whole post on that as well.

When you give yourself adequate time to actually prep and launch your blog (between 60-90 days), you can get people excited, and if you give them a chance to participate and shape your blog, then you will have just created a community for your blog.

When you hit publish, there will be traffic on your blog because you have taken the time to prep and prepare your community for it.

2) It allows you time to write blog posts.

When I first started to blog, I was given a challenge: I had to write up to 3 months worth of content before I even pressed the publish button. That was approximately 12 blog posts (I decided to publish one blog post per week).

I did it and that gave me leeway to go a week or two without writing a blog post and not have to worry because I had a blog article automatically posting.

When you take the time to launch your blog, you can write blog posts and then schedule them out so you can focus on other things in your business. Of course, you’ll always want to be writing new blog posts because then you’ll end up like me – having to write every week.

But the beauty of writing blog posts ahead of time is you can gain feedback from your community (remember I mentioned you need to have an email list? This is where you’ll be asking for feedback), ask what kinds of post your audience wants to see from you, and to get your community used to hearing from you on a consistent basis with valued-packed information.

3) A Blog Launch allows your time to promote.

When you start a blog, the #1 mistake I see (and I made) is that most people don’t give the time of day to actually promote their blog like they should.

You need to be promoting your blog as if you’re promoting a service, product, or webinar. You need to be sharing your blog launch EVERYWHERE.

This can look like getting featured on another blog site, reaching out to an influencer, being on a podcast, or getting on the forbidden Facebook Live and talking about your blog launch!

When I started my blog, I didn’t promote it very well. That meant I didn’t see the results I desired and I didn’t have a community either. I just released my blog a whim and didn’t ask anyone what they wanted to hear from me.

Don’t be like me. Promote your blog launch like you’re promoting a brand new product or service. That means making a plan of action to gain attention, have goals to build your community, and when release day comes, you’ll see the fruits of your labor.
