It’s ALMOST the 4th quarter of the year, people! Can you believe it? I sure can’t! This year has gone by WAY too fast for me! As I was coming up with September’s theme, I thought to myself, what would I like to talk about? Summer’s coming to a close, the sweet smell of autumn is here and everyone is gearing up to make the last quarter of the year the best. So I thought that this month I could bring in experts that all discuss how you can shape up your business so your last quarter can be an even better success! Join me next week as I will be bringing in my own coach, Jane Powers, to talk about speaking!

But what can you do RIGHT now to gain traction for the last part of the quarter so you can be flying into the 4th quarter feeling confident and excited? Here are the three simple steps that I know you can do, as I have learned this myself.

1) Put a Plan Together.
You have always heard that hope is not a plan, rather a plan is a plan! Get out your calendar, block an hour or two into your day and plan what you want accomplished in the next 90 days, 60 days or 30 days. What are a few of your goals that you want to reach? Jot that down and then work backwards on what you need to do to get there. Then you need to implement that plan by taking action! Set daily goals to take baby steps to get to your bigger goal. Have an accountability partner to encourage you to meet these goals too!

2) Follow Up.
I know so many business owners who never follow up or they follow up when I can’t even remember them anymore. Follow up with people who seemed interested in getting to know you more or who were asking about your services. Set aside a coffee date or if you live too far away, ask for a Virtual Coffee Date by phone, Skype or Zoom. Money is in the follow up and even if there’s no money to be made, you still made a connection and a friend. And you never ever know who might refer you!

3) Get Seen.
Now this may sound easier than it sounds, but trust me, sometimes its hard. What do I mean by getting seen? Be on guest blog post, get out and speak, put together a workshop to draw attention to your services, get on a podcast, be on a radio show, do something that gains you exposure. Create a call to action that is irresistible! Or mention a workshop or class you’re putting on to peak people’s interest. Start to gain traction by getting seen and heard through a variety of ways.

And here’s an extra step that I want to throw in to you: Do something that is uncomfortable EVERY SINGLE DAY. No one exceeded greatness by being in their comfort zone. Get uncomfortable and do the hard things because that’s one way to success.
