How do you make money online?

That is probably the biggest question I get asked from Coaches and Speakers alike. Many of you have grown your offline brand and presence and are ready to begin leveraging it even more online, but how do you do that? You don’t want to feel like you’re starting over again (because that’s exhausting!), but how do you begin to even leverage your time and content online to build a steady stream of income?

And then there are some of you that are new to being a Coach or Speaker and would rather make a name for yourself online, but how do you get started and bring in an income? Because let’s face the truth: if we’re not making money, we don’t have a business. And because we want to have a business, and when we make no money, it depresses us.

Today, I am going to review the Top 7 Ways to Begin Making Money Online, especially if you’re new to coaching or new to having your coaching services offered online. Some of the tips are going to sound familiar because I talked about it in last week’s post about how to grow your blog.

1. Webinars

Webinars are like teaching a class, but you’re not in front of people physically. It’s a way to get in front of hundreds of people by sitting at home. Easy, right? All you need to do is take your speech you have already, make slides for them (probably a lot more slides than you would use for an in-person opportunity) and teach it to a crowd of potential buyers and then sell just like you normally would do at the end. This sell could be a online course, a signature program, or a low-end product.

2. Online Courses

You have heard names like Lewis Howes, Amy Porterfield, and many more that have made BANK off of online courses (like millions). There’s a reason for that. Online courses are GREAT because you can make them once and then leverage them again and again. Not to mention that your students can take their time going through your material. Yes, online courses are very time consuming, but look at it this way – you make it once and can sell it over and over again for a few years, making tweaks to the course as you go. You can easily turn your signature program into a course.

3. Virtual Workshops

Okay, it’s very much like a webinar, but instead of it being free, it’s a paid workshop. If you already have a workshop that you charge for, why not do it online? There are several software systems out there that help you see your students so you can feel like you’re in a room with them, or you can make it webinar style. These workshops could be 2 – 2 1/2 hours long. But they are full of value! Which I know you already provide.

4. Paid Email Courses

Mariah Coz from Femtrepreneur talks about this. Just like having a free email course, you can make a premium email course that would last between 4-8 weeks. The emails would be dripped out either everyday or once a week with action steps for your audience to do. This could be your low end to get more people to work with you on your higher scale.

5.  Membership sites

Many people are taking advantage of the all-powerful and all-inclusive Membership site. The Screw the 9-5 is a great example of how the creators have leveraged this to bring in  steady stream of income every month. Within their membership site, they provide trainings and resources to those who are paid, making it more inclusive and selective. They charge around $80/month to be part of this membership. If you charged $69/month with two live trainings and additional resources between those trainings within the membership site, and get 10 people inside of your membership, that’s $690/month steady income right there!

6. Paid Facebook Group

Having a paid Facebook Group is actually becoming a thing now. I am inside an Online Course and they will begin charging me to be inside of the courses Facebook Group. It’s $19/month, but I think that is an genius idea to begin leveraging your time spent inside of a particular Facebook Group. Plus it makes it look more attractive and inclusive. I know for one of my online courses, I want to begin charging for the Facebook Group.

7. Affiliate Marketing

Affiliate Marketing is probably one of the biggest streams of revenue people can start making money from easily as it’s a good way to get your foot in the door to showing off your expertise. If you LOVE someone and their product or service, you can sell their product or service to your people and get a commission if one of your people buys. I know I will be hosting affiliates soon enough with a course I’m participating in and I might become affiliates with other companies I love (like Mariah Coz). You can even start up your on affiliate marketing program where you ask your peers to share your products or services out to their list and you cut them a commission if one of their people buys your service.

I have just given you seven great ways to begin marketing yourself online and bringing in cold hard cash! However, you might be wondering how to even get started with any of these seven! During the month of February, I am going to be going into details about the top three: Webinars, Online Courses, and Virtual Workshops. There will be either a resource guide or a checklist with each of these topics to help you begin deciding which route you will take to begin making a scene online (the one where people love you type of scene!).

Come back next week to learn more about Webinars and how to get started, what resources to use, and how to sell from a webinar without sounding sleazy!

I want to leave you with a question: Out of the seven that I mentioned, which one are you interested in learning about the most?
