5 Things to do with Your Money Right Now as an Entrepreneur

“What should I do with the money that is flowing into my account?!”

Have you ever wondered this? Perhaps you’re wishing you could wonder this!

When your business begins to take off and you start incurring money, perhaps you’re looking at what to do with all the money you’re bringing in.

Do you reinvest some of it back into your business? Do you pay off credit card debt? Do you save some? If so, then how much? Do you hire out?

You don’t want to spend all your money on things that don’t matter, but rather on things that will matter to your business, clients, and revenue in the long run.

Here are the five ways you can consider what to do with your money right now as an entrepreneur:

1. Save Money

There should be a point to saving money for your business, much like a nest egg. According to Investopedia, a nest egg means, “a substantial sum of money or other assets that have been saved or invested for a specific purpose.”

You want to have a savings account for your business so that every time you get paid, you’ll put a percentage in that account. Or direct one of your revenue streams payouts to that account every month. This can be saved for taxes, emergencies, or a sudden bill you didn’t expect.

2. Pay off Debt

Many of us are in debt, including me. We have taken out credit cards to pay for coaching programs or packages to help our business build and grow.

Unfortunately, many of us are stuck paying a credit card payment for the next 5+ years. But what if you want to start paying off your debt quickly because you’re just sick and tired of paying on it (like I am!)?

Then you need to calculate when you want to stop paying your credit card bills (could be months or a year from now) and calculate how much money you need to pay every month to reach it.

What if you want to pay it off now? The answer is YES!

When asked, Experian says,

“It’s an oft-repeated credit myth that carrying a credit card balance helps your credit scores. In reality, high balances on revolving credit accounts can mean high credit utilization, which can hurt your credit standing.”

3. Invest Your Money

One of the ways to make money and save it is by investing it. You probably have heard the term Compound Interest floating around and it simply means, “your money can keep growing, earning interest, and building upon itself.”

That sounds great! Now, how do you figure how much money do you need to invest for it to grow to a sizeable amount over a certain period of time?

You once again have to calculate what you want to have over a certain period of time. You can easily get an idea by heading over here and figuring out what that could look like. But before that, you need to talk to an investor and see which options are in your best interest.

4. Retirement

I know, retirement is boring and it’s so far away, right? Perhaps it’s time to start thinking about retirement because, let’s face it, not all of us are going to work until we die. Some of us will because that is who we are, but some of us want to have a life after we close or sell our business.

American Express has a few ideas on retirement plans that you can begin to look into and research, from a tax-advantaged account to Roth IRA accounts. You need to talk to a specialist to determine which would be the best option for you and your business.

If you want to get an idea of what it could look like if you were to start saving now, calculate what you would need to put back every month to reach your retirement goals in the next 20-30 years. You can always change the amount going into your retirement fund as your business or revenue streams grow and prosper.

5. Spend Money

I do think we all need to spend money to not only get it out of our system but to celebrate what we are creating! However, we need to make sure we allow money to be spent, whether that’s allowing money to be spent on coffee, going out to eat, or buying something, we need to be diligent with it.

You need to first know what your budget and hourly wages look like and how to plan for it. Then, set aside a percentage of what you bring in and put it in an account to spend.

Or, if you have a revenue stream coming in, then purposely make that stream a “my spending money” and call it good. Or consider dumping all your money and revenue streams into one account and at the end of every month, a percentage goes towards spending however you want.

Be Smart

One lesson I have learned over the years is that I need to be smart with my money and not allow the idea of “Look at all this money I have!” to fill me with ideas of how I can spend all of it now. I want to be more diligent and smart with what I have and use it wisely.

As your bottom line increases, it’s important to start using that money to pay off bills, debt, save for retirement, and much more. You’re investing in your future while being present to your current needs now.

How are you going to use your money, whether it’s from your main income source or your revenue streams? Let me know by posting in the comments below or heading over to my Facebook Page and letting me know there in a comment. I would love to hear from you!

How to Add Revenue Streams into Your Coaching Business Easily

How does someone have different revenue streams while working full time in their business?

Running a business is full-time and hard work as it is, but if you’re looking for more ways to add revenue streams into your business and are not sure how to add them in without overwhelming your market with promotion after promotion, I can see why you would get stuck or overwhelmed easily!

That is why I asked my business coach and friend, Lila Veronica, to come on over and share with you how she handles eight different revenue streams that come into her bank account on a regular basis.

She is the one who is helping me see how I can add different revenue streams into my own account, and with COVID here, I knew I had to ask her to share how she does it all while maintaining a thriving coaching business.

Listen up and take some good notes on how Lila is able to add different revenue streams into her life as well as how she found the ones that aligned with her values in her life (and she even mentions how she markets all of them) so that she can always have revenue coming in, regardless of a pandemic or not:

1) What kinds of different revenue streams do you have?

I have eight revenue streams. I have a revenue stream where I sell private coaching with me to help people really live who they’re meant to be and create wealth. I also have a mastermind group where that’s another revenue stream. People get access to me weekly with access to my curriculum and a group of like-minded colleagues.

I also have a revenue stream where I sell online educational courses that teach people how to create stronger businesses and stronger bodies; everything from how to have a different posture to how to create video marketing online courses.

The fourth revenue stream is a health and wellness company that I’ve partnered with that has a lot of products that I love, but in particular, they have liquid collagen, the patented product that they put into a nutraceutical, a daily dose of nutrition. And they also have it in health or in their beauty products.

This company put this liquid collagen in a lot of products that help people with their connective tissue. And I’m aware that if you take care of your connective tissue over time, you’ll be healthier and more vibrant and lively and feel better. So I’m really a fan of this liquid collagen, so it just makes sense for me to partner with them and share their products.

Revenue stream number five is where I have partnered with another company for about a decade and they have what I believe to be the best, cleanest cleaning products, a lot of health and wellness products as well. But their cleaning products, in particular, are hands down the cleanest, most non-toxic products I’ve ever used.

I will never use any other cleaning products in the world because they are hands down the cleanest. One bottle of cleaner is not expensive and it lasts forever cause you just put a little bit and then you mix it with water. And one bottle of cleaner will last you a long time.

I have also partnered with another company that offers vegan products protein powders and nutrition products, different kinds of powders and nutrition and minerals, and things that you don’t get in the daily food nowadays because our food isn’t as nutritious as it used to be. It’s not grown as close to home and the soil isn’t as nutritious.

This company has created ways to harness nutrients from plants and they don’t overcook them. And to get all the nutrients, they actually keep the nutrients in the powders. So things like spirulina and other trans, you may have heard of it before they make and they make them just taste yummier and have higher nutrition.

As somebody who eats plant-based diet, sometimes it’s hard to find all the nutrients that you want. And this is a really good supplement to my existing diet. If I ever don’t want to have food, I can just have a shake and it’s, there are no fillers, no toxic crap in there. It’s just vegetables or fruit.

Number seven revenue stream is that I have a partnership with a colleague, her name is Elle Angles and she has created the pressure-free method and helps people learn how to not released stress hormones into their body when they’re triggered. So when I find somebody who’s really stressed out, I will refer them to her. If they purchase from her, I get a referral fee.

Then the last one is another referral partner. I have a woman that I work with who is a hair Sharman astrologer and health expert. And I love her products. She has products that help people grow their hair, take care of their hair. Erin re nourished her hair. She’s also helping me grow my hair out longer and, and it’s looking beautiful and letting it go natural.

I’m really enjoying how I feel and my body with my hair and my health. So I love my experience with her so much that I’m willing to share how with my audience how much she’s helped me.

2) How did you get into each revenue stream?

I am a believer in what I share, so it’s basically if I love something enough to share it with you, I really love it. And so you’ll notice that five of my revenue streams are things that I have not created. These are partnerships.

I believe in other people so much because I’ve experienced the benefit in my own life and also witnessed the experiences of it in other people’s lives that I would, it just makes sense for me to share things for, I work with people and in a business, but I also work with people in business who want to be healthy.

Their connected tissues are important and their nutrition’s important. How they clean their house, what they put in their body, on their body, how they feel about themselves matters to everything in their life. So I just share what I love, just like you would a song or a local restaurant.

I’ve just created a financial relationship where I said, “Hey, if I share this, will you pay me?” And they say yes.

For example, the hair shaman I’m working with, she didn’t have an affiliate program until I asked her if I share her stuff with others if she’ll have a referral partnership with me. She created it and now we have it. So how fun is that?

3) How have you marketed each revenue stream when you’re running a full-time business?

I focus on my primary goal in my own business. It’s usually my mastermind, my private coaching, my online courses, the rest of my revenue streams.

I will occasionally share out on social media and on email, but usually, it’s just when I meet somebody who needs help, I just say, Hey, check this out. See if you want help with pressure-free methods. See if you want vegan supplements if you want.

With liquid collagen, it just depends on the person and I just offered a person by person and that’s pretty much how I’ve marketed the extra five revenue streams. The other three I choose, depending on what I have going on.

I like to keep my mastermind program full. If it is not full, I’ll enroll some more people. If it is full, I’ll keep it where it is and then we’ll enroll private clients or sell online courses. So it depends on what I have going on in my business, how I market each revenue stream.

4) What has each revenue stream (or combined streams) done for you and your life?

What’s neat about that is that just by me sharing a little bit about what I love, my revenue streams pay for my car payment and carport. So it’s pretty nice that health and wellness company pays for my Porsche payment.

5) If someone was looking to add more revenue streams into their business, how would you advise them to get started or even how to pick the best stream of income for them?

So if anybody was looking to add more revenue streams, just know that as long as you’re in alignment with what you’re sharing, it’ll all work out. Just stay open to all sorts of revenue streams. Don’t stay close, don’t think multilevel marketing is not for you. Check out the business structure, see if it is for you.

If you like the product, ask somebody to go set up an affiliate or partnership with you. So just be open to monetizing all sorts of relationships and it’s a really nice and smooth way to just add things in easily here and there, but still stay focused on your primary stream of income.

6) How can we get in touch with you and stay connected?

And to get in touch with me, you can email me at [email protected] and check out my latest blogs at thelilaveronica.com/blog to read how to reach your highest potential while making more money now.

How to Add Revenue Streams in 2020 as a Micro Influencer

What is one thing that you believe that most entrepreneurs and influencers learned during the COVID-19 pandemic?

One thing I believe a lot of people learned what that we can’t rely on one source of income because it could literally disappear overnight. I knew one guy who lost four high-paying clients when the pandemic hit.

Ouch.

How can we ensure that our source of income will not disappear? I believe that answer lies in having multiple streams of income, so when disaster strikes, we won’t be left with little to anything.

If you’re a coach or micro-influencer, perhaps it’s time to see what other forms of revenue streams that can be added into your business easily and would make sense with your life, business, and values (as well as your time).

What is a Micro-Influencer?

A Micro-Influencer is someone who is currently growing their following and has one already. Meaning, her or his name is around certain communities and people know who and what they are about.

This person may be a coach, agency, or freelancer, but they are making a name for themselves by elevating their inner game as well as their outer game. You’re probably a micro-influencer and don’t even know it.

And they can add different types of revenue streams to fuel their mission in this world in these three common ways:

1. Become an Author

Did you know that becoming an author could be one way to make an additional revenue stream? Since books are usually under $25, it’s a no brainer for most people who want to work with you, but can’t afford you right now. Your book can be an easy sell to them.

Neal Schaffer, who is a social media manager and Forbes Top 50 Social Media Power Influencer, has added a book onto his business so that he could show others how to become an influencer marketer in their own business and life. Now Neal has created an additional revenue stream that he can make money when he is speaking to a vast audience, post on his social media, and advertise on his website.

2. Become an Affiliate

Have you taken a course that changed your business or life? Becoming an affiliate is one way to increase revenue because you’re not having to make anything – it’s already been made and all you have to do is promote it and sell it.

The best way to promote anything is when you have had true success with it and had results in your own life or business. Your story will speak more volumes than any marketing copy you write.

3. Join an MLM

I know, I know. Many of you probably do not like MLMs and you’re probably like, “Ugh, that means I will have to build two businesses!”

Not necessarily. If you find a product that you love and it’s part of an MLM structure, it can become part of your brand and who you are. And if it’s in your time-budget, why not?

For example, I’m looking to join an MLM that is in alignment with my health goals. I can easily promote it because I know I can share my story, my results, and talk about it quite casually.

If people want it, great. If they don’t, great. If I can point them to a link, then that’s all I want.

Make More Money in 2020

From becoming an author to joining an MLM, there are multiple ways to create different revenue streams for your business to established credibility and revenue during slow months or hard times.

It can build your bank account, gain new followers and customers in unique ways, and set yourself up for success next time a disaster comes our way. All it takes is how you want to use your time, gifts, and energy.

7 Things You Can do to Bring in Money Now

Finally, at last! The COVID-19 self-quarantining mandates are about to be lifted! How many of you are preparing to start going out WAY more now?

Regardless of if you’re planning on going out or staying in, your business may be feeling like it needs more clients or income coming in right now.

Maybe you’re one of the many entrepreneurs where the pandemic caused you to lose clients which made your income level go soaring to a halt. If you had momentum in your business, you might have lost it.

If you’re looking for ways to generate income, get more clients, and start building momentum in your business like a steam engine going downhill, then here are seven things you can do right now to get clients coming back through your digital doorstep.

1. 9 Word Email

Read up on what the 9-word email is and send it to 50 people who wanted to work with you, said no, or could be great referral partners. That will start the snowball of momentum, trust me.

2. Flash Sale

Have a course or a short program already created? Why not have a 72-hour flash sale for it?

Create three emails explaining the benefits and transformation of what your program or course will have for your readers. Post the flash sale everywhere. Get peers involved and ask them to share as well.

3. Create a Beta Program

As entrepreneurs, we have plenty of programs and courses inside of us that we just haven’t had the time or energy in putting together.

Until now, perhaps.

If you’ve been wanting to put on a brand new program that will last between 4-8 weeks, then create a call-out for beta students to come through your new program for a discounted price with them giving you feedback and testimonials at the end.

I would even go as far as saying that one of your bonuses should be a 1:1 private call with you. In January, I came out with a beta program and offered it for $197/person and got three people into it.

Now that it’s recorded, I can promote it as an online course OR partial course and partial group coaching and charge more for it.

4. Be an Affiliate

If you are an affiliate for someone’s program that you are just in love with and it made a difference in your life or business, put that back out into the world. Let people know on social, your email list, and anyone else you may know.

I know affiliate payouts may not happen until 2-4 weeks out, but at least it’s money coming in the bank if someone buys the product that you raved about.

5. Make a Paid Training

One secret to getting money and giving your audience a quick win is by offering a recorded training from either a program you’ve done or a free training you hosted live and make the training it’s own paid training with an easy price on the eye.

For example, I hosted a free Content Calendar Training where people learned how to set up their content calendars for free. I even worked with one student to create her own individual calendar by giving her real examples, ideas, and strategy for her opening her next group program.

Now, I’m going to put it on a membership site and sell it for around $27.

6. Offering a Paid Coaching Hour

Many of you are coaches and love offering your genius to those who need it. Reach out to those who have told you that they couldn’t afford your services and ask if they want to hop on a one-hour private coaching call with you, no strings attached.

This could be an easy $47 – $97 call, something that can be an easy yes for those who may have also been hit with the virus as well and need your help in direction, strategy, or guidance right now.

7. Membership

How many of us have content with programs, packages, challenges, and workshops that never saw the light of day outside of a folder on our laptop or external hard drive?

Or perhaps you went on a killer Facebook Live spree where you gave out some badass content and you wanted to give out more content, but didn’t know how?

If you have content, then you can have a membership site. Start off slow, offering a few things a month and perhaps offering a virtual get-together a month as well.

Are you meeting already with a group of people for free? Turn that into a paid membership program.

For example, I run a 90-minute book writing group twice a week where we all hop on to zoom and write in our books, blogs, journals, or whatever else for 90-minutes. I’m going to make it a pay-what-you-want/month group because what I’m offering is hugely valuable!

Which of these will you create?

Money is literally everywhere and one way to make money is by taking what we have already created or have already done and repackaging it a little differently. Whether that’s as simple as a paid coaching call or having a flash sale on a program, it’s all about not re-creating, but repurposing what we already have at our disposal.

Here’s the thing: if you’re struggling with how to put together a paid or beta program for your business, struggling with the launch plan, or even the “I need clients right now plan!” then let’s hop on a call.

In the call, we’ll come up with a customizable content and marketing plan for you where you can easily follow and get clients coming to your digital doorstep right away. No more guesswork or wondering. It’ll be all right there.

3 Resources You Need to Enroll New Clients Now

There are affiliate links in this post, which means if you sign up for one of the tools, I will receive a portion of it.

Are you ready to get more clients?

If you’re ferociously nodding your head, thinking, “What kind of dumb question is this?” then we’re on the same page!

Just because there’s a crisis going on, doesn’t mean that people aren’t still buying and investing in themselves.

I asked on social media if people thought that they could still land clients and I got such a tremendous response, all with a resounding, “Yes!”

But before we can serve new clients or even get people on the phone with us, we need a few tools and resources to make sure our backend is utterly amazing.

If you’re ready to take on more clients during coronavirus with your content and boost your leads, you will need three tools to enroll new clients effortlessly and save you tons of time.

Calendar Tools

You need to have a link to a calendar to schedule people to get on a call with you to discuss how you can serve them. This will be given in email messages, messenger, and text.

Make it an email to remember the link, like www.monicawrites.com/Call or something to that effect. This is called a “pretty link”.

My calendar link is a bit.ly link that I created a long time ago and it leads straight to my online calendar where people can schedule a time to chat with me.

Here are the calendars I recommend getting if you haven’t gotten an online calendar yet:

Acuity Scheduling*

Calendly

Google Calendar

Next, you need to put in your available times for the month, make a pretty link to your calendar page, and that’s it! You can start receiving calls!

Merchant Account

Next is a way to take credit card payments over the phone. I highly recommend taking payments over the phone because then you are in control of taking payments, especially if your client prefers a payment plan.

I have seen too many of my colleagues not get paid because they leave it in their client’s hands to pay via invoice rather than charging their client’s card every month.

The popular merchant or payment accounts are PayPal and Square. These are both simple and easy to set up to your bank account.

I highly recommend Square as you can manually put in your client’s credit card information in real-time or at a later time with Square’s website or app.

Agreement or Contract

Finally, you need to have an agreement or contract in place. This protects you and your client.

Make sure there’s an agreement on no chargebacks because this is going to protect you if someone decides not to pay and asks their credit card company to not allow you to charge their card. You can then show the credit card company that they signed an agreement that they would not chargeback their card.

I send my agreements to my clients to sign electronically with HelloSign as it syncs with Google Drive, which is where I make all my agreements for my clients to sign.

Another recommendation: use Google Doc to draft one contract or agreement so every time you sign on another client, you can change out the name and add or take out the package type or features, according to the package your client signed up for.

HelloSign is easy and free for up to four documents every month. You can easily set up your signature and your client can set up his or her signature and sign the document within moments of sending it to them.

It’s very slick and professional looking and I love how easy and simple it is to use for both myself and my clients.

Enroll Clients Now!

That’s it! These tools have saved me so much time, energy, and headaches when onboarding a new client. When you have a system in place and you’re ready to go, then it makes enrolling a new client so much better.

Plus, when you have your systems set up, you appear professional and confident in what you’re doing.

If you need help getting more clients through your doorstep with the power of your content (like social media, blogging, packaging your content into online course, etc), then I can help you.

I want you to get more clients and make more money and it starts with you hopping on a call with me to see how we can get more clients coming through your digital doorstep with ease, confidence, and success.

Let’s get more clients with less work starting now. Schedule a call today.

Can I still land Clients during the Pandemic?

If you’ve been wondering whether or not to still sell your services, products, or packages during the pandemic we are in, then I am going to give you a resounding answer that will be my answer the entire month of April (as well as moving forward):

YES!

YES, you can still land and get clients during this pandemic!

YES, continue to sell your packages, products, and services even if you continue to get a No. It’s okay! This is a practice to make you an even better saleswoman (or man)!

YES, continue to promote and make new promotions for your business! You can reduce your prices or give out something for free for a time to help your audience get into shape, start blogging, or create their website.

Whatever it is, you can still land clients and make money during the pandemic.

If you feel at all bad about it, remember this: you are a service provider. You are serving others with your gift and to stop altogether is NOT serving anyone, including yourself.

Last week, I told you seven ways to make money with your content as well as places and ideas on where to promote and share your stuff.

The week prior, I taught you a few foundational pieces you need to have in place in order to start marketing and gaining a newfound relationship with your audience.

This week, I am going to tell you exactly how to land clients using a few tools, tricks, and tips I have learned and implemented over the years that have worked for myself and my clients.

The Infamous 9-Word Email

I absolutely love this 9-word email as you’ll see it all this month in practically every blog post. You know why?

It works!

It’s a simple 9-word email that asks your audience if they still need help in your area of expertise.

Now if you’re not feeling 100% comfortable with sending out this email to some people, why not shoot them a simple hello email? Something like this:

“Hey NAME, you’ve been on my mind. How are you?”

“Hey NAME, how are you? I have some ideas for you in regards to [your expertise, their pain]. Would you like to hop on a little call?”

It’s still simple and it allows you to start a conversation.

Once a person replies, ask if they can get on your calendar where you’ll talk to them and if they are a good fit, offer your package or service.

Ask A Question

It’s time to get conversational! Never underestimate the power of starting a conversation!

One great question I have asked to my email list, my audience, and on multiple Facebook Groups that has always gotten responses from is:

“What is your number one struggle regarding [your expertise]?”

Here’s the next part that I have seen many business owners fail to do after posting this question: Take time to reply and respond to all comments on the Facebook Groups, replies back to from your email blast, or from your own personal page and start asking those people to get on a call with you if you feel that it’s a good fit.

I have used variations of this question that have allowed me to get on calls with people and sell my packages to.

Post on Your Wall

Start posting questions or statements that your audience struggles with and ask for feedback to get engagement.

Here’s how to do that:

Write out a list of pain points that your audience has regarding what you offer to them.

Come up with a few social media posts that you can post multiple times in a week and see which one gets the best results.

Then start posting. Consider posting in a few Facebook Groups with your ideal audience in them as well.

Continue to monitor the comments, responding back, and asking to get on your calendar.

Another idea is to come up with a free training to get people onto your email list and conduct the training and then offer a 1:1 discovery call. Or you can use that time to get people into a paid program like a group program or online course.

That way, you’ll provide value first and then offering a sale. You need to do what you feel your audience wants or expects from you to do. Or do both and see which one has the best response.

Host a Facebook Live and a Watch Party

Get on Facebook Live and just say what you have to say about your product, program, or service. Don’t beat around the bush, but instead, be bold and call people out on their BS.

Get into the transformation of what people can or will get from working with you. Talk about past clients or your own experience.

Then offer a call to action that is all about signing up to work with you or getting into your online course, whichever one.

After posting it Live, create or schedule a Watch Party so even more people will see it! Ask peers and friends to share your video with their friends so that the word can get spread around.

You Can Make Money. It’s Up to You to Make it Happen.

I don’t care if we are in the best of seasons or the worst of seasons, you can make money. You can still serve and be of service and still have a price tag on it.

It’s a matter of you getting out there and doing it. It’s a matter of you being bold and brave enough to get past your limiting beliefs and just doing it.

If you need help in any of these areas, I can help you. I can help you get more clients and make more money during the pandemic if you just ask. Hop on a call with me and let’s see how we can get more clients coming through your digital doorstep and setting your business up so that whether it’s a feast or famine kind of world, you are set up and not having to worry.

How to Make Money in COVID-19 with Content

Should I sell during the COVID-19 pandemic?

Should I shut down my business until all of this blows over?

I feel guilty if I am too upbeat and positive…

I keep hearing and seeing this all across social. So I am now getting into your digital social-distancing space, grab your face with my hands, and tell you quite sternly, “DON’T STOP SELLING! Not now, not EVER!”

I stand with what I said last week:

“I keep saying it and I will continue to say it, I believe us entrepreneurs have just been given our year on a silver platter. We can serve others and show others that they can still have a reliable job and make money as a side hustle as well (this is for those who we know that they don’t ever want to be an entrepreneur).

Since everyone is at home being quarantined and are on social media more than ever, you have a chance to create epic and killer content to drive people to you.

If you have not been showing up, then you’re losing sales. It’s time to get consistent and start selling!

If you’re struggling with how to make money during COVID-19, then today I want to give you some ideas. Last week, I talked all about a few things you need in order to get started on making money. During this month, I’m going to give you real and simple strategies to start making money through your content.

Get Consistent with Your Content

You are NOT going to get people reaching out to you or getting on your calendar if you are NOT posting consistently on social. Period.

Because I’ve been showing up like a mo-fo for the last three weeks, last week I had two conversations with potential on-going referral partners that could deliver clients to my digital doorstep starting before the end of the month.

I had several people reach out to me asking for help and we got on calls because of it. I got a new client. It was all because I’ve been showing up and writing content for the last three weeks.

That is the very first step to getting attention if you want to make money through content and not picking up the phone and calling anyone (you should probably still call someone though).

Need some ideas? Here’s how to start building branded content for your business so you can stand out and get seen quickly.

Send the 9-Word Email

The 9-Word email is so simple and it works so well. One time I did it and I made $200. Not bad for 45 minutes of my time.

Read what the 9-word email is. Write out your simple 9-word email. Send it to 50 people.

Send it via email, messenger, Instagram messenger (whatever that is called), text, or however else your audience communicates.

That’s it! Just copy and paste the same sentence (if it makes sense) into a different email or message and press send.

When someone responds, you’ll lead them onto a call with you where you’ll see how you can best serve them. Then offer your package, program, or service.

Go Live

Now is the time to utilize Facebook Live or IGTV! Video has been on the rise for years now and since everyone has so much more time on their hands, they are watching more.

You want to have a mix of lifestyle videos and business-related videos where you teach people something tangible.

I have gone on video this past few weeks and made my content calendar on Live so I’ll actually do it, I talked about how to make money with content, what to do if you don’t want to blog, and talked about what to do when you feel like you keep repeating yourself.

I am also getting into lifestyle videos because I am not only an entrepreneur, but I am a mom, a newbie at doing makeup, and so much more. So I did a makeup tutorial on how I put on my makeup, I showed what I am taking to keep healthy during COVID-19, and showed my audience my jewelry order I made with a friend that I was super excited about.

Don’t just write content – create both training and lifestyle videos for your brand.

If you don’t want to show your face? Here are some tips on that!

Get Referral Partners

One way I am expanding my audience and my resources are by asking and becoming referral partners with people I know whose audiences needs my services. For example, I have partnered with a book writing coach, a book design graphic designer, a book publisher, a few speaking coaches, and a business coach.

I offered these referral partners a recording of training that my clients had to pay to get and offered it to their email list and audience for free that came with three emails, detailing the training and why they should hop on a call with me.

If one of their audience hops on a call and I close them, they get 15-20% of the package that their client chose.

However, these referral partners can choose how they want me to approach their audience; for example, one had me create a Facebook event for her Facebook group, another had me on her morning Mastermind call, another one is doing an interview with me via Facebook Live.

Be open and flexible with your referral partners as they are graciously are putting you in front of their audience.

Have a Sale

There’s no better time than to create an offer or sale for one of your courses or program right now. You can either offer an online course for a significantly lower price or host a 4-6 week program for a smaller price (think $97-$197 range).

Make a point to say that you want to be in community and teach others how to get more money, more clients, have a better life, have a healthier relationship with their spouse (since you know, they are spending so much more time with them), or whatever it is! You’re there for them and want to make this an easy yes!

Have a Pay-What-You-Want Training

I have been seeing a few people put out training (60 minutes to several hours) where they ask their audience to pay what they feel the training is worth to them. There was no price on it, just a donation of sorts.

This can be a live training or pre-recorded training.

Get Conversational

Don’t undermine the power of just getting into conversations with people using social. The more you get comments on a post, the more people see it. And that means more eyeballs on your stuff. For free.

Here are some of my more conversational posts that got a lot of comments on it:

Places to Promote using Content

Because I’m teaching you how to make money with content by offering you ideas on what to do to make money, here are a few places to use your content to talk about your amazing business and promote your offerings:

  • Social Media (you want to post multiple times a day on social media. Not everyone is going to catch your one-time a day post at the same time)
  • Your email list
  • Reach out to someone via Messenger (here’s an idea: ask someone how they are doing right now. Let them know they were on your mind. See how you can be of service and ask to get on a call. You never know where the conversation may lead)
  • Blog
  • Video
  • Audio (get on a podcast! This is a great time to do it!)
  • Facebook Groups promotion threads
  • Facebook Groups
  • Commenting back on people who have commented on your posts
  • Send out emails
  • Trainings
  • Ask someone to do a training with you
  • Interviews on zoom and Facebook Live

There are more ways to write content and share your content with your potential audiences. And ask to get in front of other people’s audiences as well!

There is no greater time like right this moment so go ahead and get your game on and show up on social like a mo-fo!

And if you’re unsure how to put this all in a workable plan (so you have time to promote or even know what kind of content to write on a daily basis), then download the free How to Write a Realistic Content Marketing Plan Workbook that is going to walk you through setting up your goals, activities, and yes, even content.

A content marketing plan doesn’t need to be a 90-day plan; it can be a 30-day plan. Sometimes it’s best to start small and then work your way up. Regardless, having a workbook to help you plan your next 30 days can help you be more intentional, strategic and focused every month (and make sales!).

It’s Still Your Year: Making Money during the COVID-19 Crisis

With the hit of COVID-19, many entrepreneurs began to immediately face fears around if they could continue to create money for their businesses. And it wasn’t just the entrepreneurs who were afraid of this, it was also those who go to a daily job.

I believe that this virus has really helped many people see that their jobs cannot be relied upon and that having a side hustle might be a great way to make money if something like this happens again.

What ways have you’ve been hit with COVID-19 as a business owner? I would love to know by hearing from you personally, whether it’s good or bad, I want to support you.

I keep saying it and I will continue to say it, I believe us entrepreneurs have just been given our year on a silver platter. We can serve others and show others that they can still have a reliable job and make money as a side hustle as well (this is for those who we know that they don’t ever want to be an entrepreneur).

We can show our clients or prospective audience that we can still make money and support our dreams, family, and business by bringing forth all we got into both free and paid content so that we are serving and helping.

One way I am serving my audience is by bringing them more ways on how to make money with content and that is exactly what we are going to talk all about today.

How to Make Money with Paid Content

I love talking about paid content because it’s not as hard as it sounds and when you get into the flow of it, it becomes natural and easy.

A few weeks ago, I said this about paid content:

“Your free content works to attract people to you, turn them into leads, and build a relationship. Now, you’re actually making an offer. If they feel that you have unique solutions to their problems, they’ll buy from you.”

First Things First

The very first step in all of this is that we have to build the basic content first, which is called awareness content. Awareness content comes in the form of weekly content, like a weekly blog, podcast episode, or video.

If you have not begun a weekly piece of content right now, this is the BEST time to get started!

If you’re wondering why you can’t just post on social media, here’s why: social media could go down tomorrow or it could erase everything you wrote and you’ll be left with nothing. Plus, the moment you write on social media, that content is no longer yours.

When you produce weekly content that is answering the questions of your audience on a separate platform (like a blog), that platform is your and the likely hood of your paid platform going down is very, very slim.

Next, you want to write lead generation content by leading your audience from your weekly content to your email list with a content upgrade – like a checklist, pdf, video series, or worksheet.

In the meanwhile, you’re creating relationships with your audience with your content, no matter if it through your email list, your weekly content, or social media; you’re providing value by answering their questions, addressing their concerns, and fulfilling on how they can move their business, health, or relationship in the right direction.

Getting Paid to Write

This is why getting started and showing up on your social media feed, creating and posting weekly content, hosting videos, conducting online workshops and so much more is the ideal time to start because when all this COVID-19 stuff is over, you’ll literally have clients lining up the door to work with you!

It’s YOUR time to show up; your business needs you to show up consistently, every day, every week, with answers to their questions, leading them by example, and giving them that peace of mind they desperately need right now.

If you need help with this, then let’s hop on a call and start creating content that leads to paying clients sooner than you think.

Here’s an example of how to get paid for your content after building relationships with your audience:

“It could be an email or social media post announcing to your audience members a new product or service. Or it could be a piece that’s promoting a paid course you’re planning to offer and you’ll looking for beta testers (if you need them) or if they are looking for your type of service.”

Examples Are…

Leading your audience to an email challenge where they do a daily challenge with access to you via a Facebook Group. At the end of the challenge, you offer them a massive discount or add on extra bonuses to an online course or group program.

Writing content that leads people to get on a free call with you where you sell them into a program of yours. The content leading up to it can be asking questions and responding to them in the comments that lead to that discovery call.

Hosting a free training with the call to action being getting onto a private call with you where you lead them into a paid program. Or the training can lead to a group program or online course.

Your Audience is looking at You

It’s time to show up and begin to plant the seeds now. You are the expert in your field, you can serve and help so many people during these uncertain times.

It’s up to you how you’re going to use it.

Right now, people are at home bored and are looking for someone to inspire them, calm them down, and give them support. This is where awareness and relationship building content come in.

Build trust now and begin serving your ideal customers now so that they can feel safe when you ask them to work with you. If you are unsure or have no clue how to do this, then let’s talk. Shoot me an email at [email protected] or click here to schedule a call.

Let’s change the way your audience sees you and let’s start leading them to fruitful relationships with you and your brand so that you can be the hero in their story.

You have the opportunity to change someone’s world right now. Will you take it?

How to Boost Your Leads Online despite Coronavirus

You must be sick and tired of hearing about the coronavirus (am I right)? I know I sure am!

But I really believe that with these quarantine events that are happening and schools closing, this is an excellent opportunity to use the second type of content for your business to explode your business revenue.

Why?

Because you have the best opportunity to show others that they can have a freer life than the one they have now and can call the shots on their own and no outbreak can change that.

What is this second type of content I am talking about?

Lead Generation.

How can you use awareness and lead generation content to boost your business, clientele, and impact? Let’s get into that.

What is Lead Generation Content?

Lead generation is the type of content that you use to lead people from your awareness content into a more developed relationship with you and your brand. Think to ask your audience to download a free checklist, worksheet, video series, or some other free thing that will put them onto your email list so you can begin to nurture the relationship further.

As a reminder, awareness content is the content that your audience will see first and learn more about you and your business. Think of awareness content being a blog post, video, slides, speaking engagement, or podcast episode.

A quick example is you have a blog post where in the end, you ask for them to download a free workbook that will take what you learn into action. They get onto your email list and from there.

How do I leverage Lead Generation from this outbreak?

First, you need to have a presence online and social media, full of awareness content that allows your audience to find you and your business easily so they can become interested.

Secondly, you need to have a lead generation piece of content in place to funnel your new prospects into your email marketing system.

Okay, so how do you leverage this then?

Your awareness content needs to be focused on asking your audience questions about how their lives are affected by the coronavirus. It could revolve around how you’re happy that you can work online without worry about what happens in the outside world.

For example, I will be posting about how I am writing a blog post while traveling to visit family without the worry of not making money. I got clients, I have momentum, and I work with all my clients and partners via phone and online.

I have created a business style that allows me to write a blog post while traveling and I still have clients, money, and I’m still going full throttle, despite the crisis. I will be asking my audience if they want this lifestyle, then I can help them achieve it.

What can you post that will make people think, “Hrm… maybe I should reconsider this online business thing?”

Then you want to have a lead generation content piece ready – this can be anything from a call, checklist, worksheet, tutorial, training, video series, or audio series.

How do I know what to talk about?

In your awareness content, you just want to ask questions and start exploring, especially in social media. In your weekly content, start talking about how you are experiencing freedom, money, and ease during a time that people are experiencing stress, fear, and lack.

Talk about what systems you have in place that creates clients, cashflow, and peace. Self-care will be a huge topic right now.

Get into the how and let people know they can have this same peace of mind in their life and they will never have to worry about another situation like this again.

On social, this is an excellent opportunity to ask what is holding your audience back from taking the plunge and starting their business. Do some market research and use your audience language for your lead generation content.

Then lead your new prospects into a process of relationship building so you can pave the way for them to experience life to the fullest.

It’s Your Time to Shine

This is the best time for entrepreneurs to showcase the ease of life and work when you have an online business. You can still conduct client meetings thanks to Zoom, continue creating videos with Loom, graphics with Canva, and send out weekly emails with systems like Mailerlite.

It’s the best time for you and your voice to shine. It’s time that you take your content to a whole new level by bringing on people on the same ride.

One way to get started is by downloading the How to Create a Realistic Content Marketing Calendar Workbook that will help you plan out your awareness and lead generation content in a way that is both of service to new clients and builds your email lists with new loyal fans.

Start planning now to enjoy the benefits of your labor sooner.

How to Create Brand Awareness with Weekly Content Now

How do you build brand awareness for your business? As business owners, we want to be seen, visible, heard of, and known as the to-go industry leader in our fields.

One of the first ways we accomplish this is by building awareness content for our clients to discover us and learn who we are and what we do.

During this month, I want to cover the four different types of content in greater detail so you can have a firm grasp on how to expand, reach, lead, and build relationships with your potential readers so you can close more clients and start earning more money while impacting the world at a greater reach.

Many of you by now have already built some form of awareness content, but if you’re looking for more ways on how to expand that awareness, then I hope to cover that here.

What is Awareness Content?

Awareness content is described from last week’s post as:

“Awareness content is how a person first comes into contact with you. It’s the first blog post or video they see of yours. At this point, they have no idea who you are or that you even existed. They’re just looking for some form of information on the internet and they happened upon your content. The goal of content at this stage is to pull the new person into your orbit of influence.”

Awareness content is creating brand awareness for your business at a broader scope so you can eventually narrow down the ones who will actually work with you.

What can be Awareness Content?

Awareness content can be a blog (my personal favorite), videos, podcasts, speaking (online or offline), and social media (perhaps Facebook Ads).

Think of it as how you found your favorite influencer, coach, podcast host, or business owner that you open their emails most often. How did you find them?

This is how your people are going to find you.

If you are wondering which awareness content is best for your audience will depend on how your audience likes to consume content. You’ll have to conduct market research to see which format the majority of your audience enjoys consuming content.

Now that doesn’t mean you can’t repurpose your awareness content into more awareness content, though! But you want to start creating weekly content that will be the number one way your clients will find you.

Why Weekly Content?

The reason why I tell my clients and just about everyone else to produce some sort of weekly content (video, blog, or podcast) is that it tells your audience that you’re serious, you’re willing to show up, and you’re going to show up for them when they work with you.

Weekly content establishes credibility, reliability, and instant expertise in your area of expertise.

Would you work with someone who produces a podcast once a month? Would you work with someone who only showed up on video inconsistently?

Creating some sort of weekly content creates a strong relationship with your audience and showing up consistently is going to build that trust and relationship you desire with your audience before they work with you.

What do I say with Awareness Content?

When it comes to building awareness for your brand, you need to understand your audience enough to know what they are thinking and then you can create content that will engage with them so they keep coming back for more.

But here are some quick simple ways to start writing or speaking content for your audience:

Answering Frequently Asked Questions

Break down your brilliance into simple, understandable ideas

Repurpose your book, speech, or videos you’ve already written/produced

Inside of your content, you can talk about how when people work with you, what results they will see. Or share a specific client story to give your reader a clear idea of what it would be like if they decided to work with you.

What do I do afterward hitting publish on my Awareness Content?

After creating your Awareness Content, you want to share it out with on your email list, social media, and then create a repurposing strategy to keep that post, video, or episode alive and fresh on people’s minds.

Most importantly, you want to begin creating the next step in the four different types of content for your business: lead generation. Lead generation leads to relationship content and from there, paid content.

To start planning and working on your Awareness Content and start building your brand around it, you need to put it into an organized system, like a content marketing planner.

A content marketing plan helps you start creating content for different intervals in your audience’s journey with you. So why not get a head start by downloading your own How to Create a Realistic Content Marketing Plan Workbook by clicking on the photo below.
