Are you afraid of networking and connecting with people you don’t know? There is an Expert for that!

Are you afraid of networking and connecting with people you don’t know? There is an Expert for that!

Many people are so afraid to network and go out and meet new people. You might be one of them. Do you have a mini heart attack every time it’s your turn to promote yourself at a networking event? Are you the person who leans against the wall, hoping and praying that you’ll blend in so you don’t have to talk with anyone when networking?

I am here to tell you that there is a doctor for these symptoms and her name is Penny Brenden with The Connecting Experts! She loves connecting people with other people to help build businesses. “I am passionate about helping small businesses get more exposure and learn how to get out of their comfort zones. That is when the magic happens,” Penny says.

Penny’s passion began in 2008 when she opened a company called Open House with Style where she was inspired to help Realtors sell homes when the housing market was down. She invited businesses to showcase their products and services in open houses in Denver, Colorado. This is when she discovered her love for connecting people with people. In 2012, her passion for connecting others brought her to birth her own company called The Connecting Experts.

“Most entrepreneurs are lacking in the basic skill of how to network and I help them to feel more comfortable and confident in any networking atmosphere. Face to face marketing is the best and most productive way of getting new business for everyone.  You have to get out and do it. Even if you don’t want to. Networking is the way to get you off the ground and running,” Penny says. She helps entrepreneurs achieve confidence through her Art of Networking Seminars and The Connecting Experts trade shows.

The Art of Networking is a two and a half hour seminar where Penny walks you through basic networking skills and helps you come up with your 30-second elevator speech so you don’t have to panic anymore. It doesn’t stop there though – Penny makes sure her class is very interactive by involving everyone who is participating in the class to work together.

I have personally taken Penny’s class and after the seminar, I came out feeling confident and with a purpose behind my business and who I am. Her class is not only fun and interactive, but Penny makes you feel at ease with her open and likable personality!

Perhaps you’re reading this and have a feeling of despair in your heart for you live nowhere near Colorado and Penny’s class seems to be your fountain of water in the midst of your desert. Never fear for The Connecting Experts are wanting to start webinars for the class! Check on their website to see when that will be coming out!

What should you be doing between now and participating in The Art of Networking Seminar? Penny’s advice is this: “You just have to go out and get in front of people. Just do it.  Don’t be afraid to ask others for their help and referrals.”

5 Easy Ways to keep Customer Retention

We are all desperately looking for clients and when we catch a client, we forget that retaining the client is important. We get so caught up in the work that our client has us doing, that we forget to make sure our clients are happy and satisfied with our customer service.

How can we keep our clients happy when we are busy working for them? Katie Myers, CEO of CR Conversations, has some great and easy ways to keep your clients happy and feeling loved throughout the time you have them in your company.

Tip #1: Send your client a hand written card.

Old fashioned right? How excited do you get when you receive a letter out of the blue? I’m not talking about junk mail here; I’m talking about birthday cards, thinking of you cards, or heart warming cards that someone you know took the time out to write to you? Your clients are people who probably love receiving hand written letters just like you! A Pro Tip that Katie gives is to develop a custom branded thank you card with your logo and colors on it so the client will know exactly who sent it.

Tip #2: Engage Your Clients.

In this day, we have so many ways of communicating with one another: Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Email, Websites, Instagram, Text, and the list goes on and on. Be touching your clients on a variety of platforms such as email, newsletters, Facebook, Twitter, blogs, videos, and anything that you can do that is easy for you and your brand.

Tip #3: Make Your Clients Feel Special.

Katie asks, “Why not send out client-only promotions?” Pick up the phone and call your client to tell them about a client-only promotion that you and your company have going on right now and offer them a deal they cannot resist! Offer them a better discount when they bring in a friend into your company! This will create extended client retention from your already loyal client and perhaps a new one as well.

Tip #4: Throw a Party.

Who doesn’t like to party?! Invite your clients to a party as guests of honor. Pro Tip: Call it a “Gratitude Party” to make your clients feel that much more special.

Tip #5: Be Authentic.

When you’re transparent with your clients, it will help them know that you’re looking at them like a real human being instead of a transaction. There’s nothing worse than feeling like a paycheck to someone rather than a human being with feelings. Be as authentic and honest as you can be to your clients.

When you are thinking about a customer retention plan, Katie says to “think it from the heart.” Whatever you have in your heart will show to your clients and that is where they will fall in love with you, your brand, and your company.

Three Ways Writing a Book will IMPACT Your Business!

I am excited and proud to announce that I will be teaching a class this month! I am very excited (and a little nervous as well) about teaching, but I’m thrilled that I get to talk to people who are interested in propelling their business forward. The class will be held at Laramie County Community College in Cheyenne, Wyoming, at the Center of Conferences and Institutes building on Thursday, July 23, from 6:30-8:00pm. The cost is $30, in which you can buy your tickets here.

Why did I chose this title? I wanted to encourage people that they have a story within them. They have an expertise and a lot to say about who and what they are in their field. I want their brand to be exposed and what better way than to expose your brand through a book!

Who is this class targeted to? Anyone! But I love it when coaches, speakers, and business professionals want to share their stories, expertise, or inspirations with the world.

Why should you take this class? There are many reasons why you should take this class, even if you’re not interested in writing a book (yet!). Here is a list of 5 different people who should come to my class:

  1. You like learning new information that you might not have known before. This is for you people who may not be interested in writing a book; however, it’s never too late to learn something new and if you love being informed of how you can better your business, then this class is for you. Plus showing that you’re teachable show others (or even yourself) that you’re open to new ideas.
  2. You’re debating about writing a book and have been for years, but it seems that you just can’t get around to write it. This class is meant to excite you and encourage you to get started with writing your masterpiece!
  3. You want to write a book, but don’t know if it’s worth it. Again, this class is meant to motivate, encourage, and excite you to take the next step! I want to show you powerful outcomes of how writing a book can propel your business forward! By the end of the class, I want you to be thrilled and itching to get started!
  4. You want to write a book, but you’re a born procrastinator. But when you hear the ways on how you can move and propel your business further when you write your book, then you will want to pick up a pen, grab a notepad, and start writing away!
  5. You feel like writing a book would be awesome, but feel like it’s too overwhelming. Book writing is a huge task and it’s a process as well. But I want to show you that if you write your book, then the outcome is far better than the fear that is stopping you.

I will be offering a screamin’ demon deal at the end for you procrastinators, debaters, overwhelmers, and unbelievers that you will only get THAT night! You seriously don’t want to miss out, especially if writing a book has been on your mind for years (or maybe just now). I will also be having a drawing for a FREE one-on-one session with me, so you seriously do not want to miss that either.

I understand if you’re thinking, “I want to go to this class! But Cheyenne’s so far away!” or “I have to miss it!” I will be filming the class and a webinar will be available to purchase to watch on another day. To find out when that will happen, please see my website at www.monicawrites.com

I hope that you will show up to my class on Thursday, July 23. I would be honor to share my knowledge with you and to help you succeed. I cannot wait to see and meet you that night!

If you would like to know when I am teaching a class or events that are happening with me, please sign up for my newsletter, which you can do on my Home Page. This has exciting writing prompts, inspirational quotes to get you through your month, events, classes, and news.

A New Direction

Hello all! Wow, there has been some major changes around here, haven’t they? I went from blogging on Blogspot to AllProWebTools, an amazing company in which I personally know the software designer and owner! I’ve changed my whole website as well! What a lot of work! But what a way to showcase who I want to work with from now on.

I want to announce that I have changed my focus on who I want to work with from the masses to a select few and these few are Speakers and Coaches. Why do I want to work with these people? I have been influenced by both speakers and coaches a like. I have been amazed at their encouragement, positive vibes, and inspiration. It’s these people that I feel like I can conqueror the world and make my own path like a blazing fire! It’s these people that allow me to have the confidence I have today. I want to write for these people because I want my words to impact someone’s life, just like my life has been impacted. I want the words I write to inspire people to fulfill their dream, to conqueror their fears, and to have someone backing them up 110%.

Speakers and coaches are out there to inspire and to life others up, to encourage and be there when times are tough. Their speech and content will be base solely on their passion to help others. This is who I want to write for. I want to write for someone who want to change the world, one life at a time.

I do have another group of people I want to work with as well: new authors. I have a passion for you too. I am a author and I am in the midst of writing one fantasy novel (that’s been in the works for 4+ years) and a devotional right now. I understand the fears that goes into making your book public to the world. I understand that after reading and re-reading your manuscript over and over, you start to not notice your mistakes. I want to help you so that when you’re ready to publish, you’re not only well taken care of, but also confident. I want to help your book become New York’s Best Seller through proofreading and copyediting it for you.

I have a passion to help others succeed and I want to help you succeed. Whether you’re a speaker, a coach, a new author, or perhaps someone who does need help with your writing, I want to help you succeed to exposing your words out into the world. Let me help you do that.
