On social media, I’ve been hearing all about the latest personality test, Enneagram Test. You know, the annoying posts like, “I just did my Enneagram Test and I am a Type 4 and blah blah blah blah” (you know, because I didn’t read past that).

I have taken a few personality tests, like the Myers Biggs test and probably a few others that I just cannot recall their names. The activity on my social media about this miracle Enneagram test became so persistent, I decided to finally do it to see what Type I was.

It’s a no brainer that I had a close tie to both Type 2 (98%) and Type 3 (96%). Type 2 is The Giver and Type 3 is The Achiever. 

After reading my Type, I quickly realized this is not only me to a T in my personal and relationship life, but it’s how I do business.

Because I am a Giver, I love to give by teaching and educating others about my expertise and the achiever in me is where my strong sense of being an entrepreneur with a sense of stubbornness to go with it.

I had a lightbulb moment.

What if we could identify what kind of content we should strive to create based on your Enneagram result?


If you’ve been on the struggle bus on what kind of content to create for your audience, the answer may be in what Enneagram Type you are based on your results. 

If you have no clue what I am talking about, I would recommend reading the next section and then taking your own Enneagram Test to discover what Type you are before reading the following section about what kinds of content you can create.

What is the Enneagram Test?

Here is what Wikipedia says about what the Enneagram Test is: it’s “a model of the human psyche which is principally understood and taught as a typology of nine interconnected personality types.”

The Gold Digger’s Podcast Host, Jenna Kucher, says this about the test: 

“The thing about the enneagram that I have found to be true is that it is SCARY accurate. All those seemingly ‘little’ things that you thought know one knew about you… Those thoughts that you are scared to admit you have… The things you long for… YUP. The Enneagram calls them out which is exactly what makes it both memorable and powerful.”

Basically, it’s a personality test that helps you see how your dominant trait affects your life, loved ones, and areas of your life that you may or may not have full control of.

Here are the 9 Types from the Enneagram Test from The Enneagram Institute (some names are reworded a bit from Truity, but it’s the same):

Your Content and Your Enneagram Type

Alright, now it’s the fun part! Here is how you can use your Enneagram Test Type to discover what kinds of content you can write for your business that will probably feel more in alignment with who you are than ever before.

Now before I move into this section, here is my disclaimer: This is by no means a full list of ideas or potential on how your Type can help you create content. It’s mere suggestions and if you want to see how your type can be used for your marketing, hop on a free call with me where we’ll talk about your Enneagram Type and the fundamentals of using it for your content and marketing.


If you find yourself being a perfectionist and want yourself and others to do things the right way, then the best way for you to write content is through tutorials, whether it’s written content or videos.

You’ll be able to show others how to do your expertise correctly the first time through your content and marketing. Your content will always have a purpose to it and this purpose is probably more towards being educational rather than inspiring.

Let your content have the words, “do XYZ correctly the first time” or “If you don’t do XYZ this way, you’ll be sorry”.


In Truity, they call this the Giver, but it’s the same thing. Giver’s love to feel belonging and demonstrate their skills. Since I came out as a Type 2, I know that I use my skills by educating, demonstrating my content and marketing ability through blogging, videos, workshops, webinars, and classes. I LOVE doing these things.

I feel that The Giver loves to inspire as well.

Givers want to feel accepted so they love to demonstrate their skills through presentations and well-written content and using inspiration to communicate our knowledge. Consider having more presentations (webinars, videos, content), better thought out blogs, and add in more visuals this year.

I would want to challenge the Givers to be more purposeful though. We love to give, help, and care, so our content needs to have a purpose to it. Whether it’s to get people to sign up for a freebie or pay to be in a program, it’s time to level up and be more purposeful in what we’re out to share.


Achievers want to be successful so they are driven, by pure stubbornness or by pure intellect, I’m not sure which (talking about myself here!).

Achievers should focus on content all around how others can be successful, or how to be successful in their area of expertise.

This can look like, “How to be Successful at Blogging in 2020” or “How to be successful at marketing your content without wasting time.” 

Your content is going to be focused how others can be successful using your knowledge and expertise as their backbone to their success.

I would challenge you to be more vulnerable this year and worry less about how people see you and more about how you can give more service to your clients by showing them the real you.  


I know some people who fit this to a T! They are the types who want to be more nomadic or who dress differently and have their own sense of style. They are pure individualist and they drive to be themselves.

An individualist content can be based on how to keep more to yourself, your values, your authentic ways of being while running a business, being a mom, being a mom in corporate America, or whatever else.

Touch on the subjects that talk about living an authentic lifestyle – no matter what that is. 

“How to still be a mom while running a 7-figure business and not suffering from burnout.”

“Being Authentic in an Inauthentic World of Male-Dominated Era.” 


If you love data and surveys, then consider writing content that is area, like “51% of Women Love this and 49% of Women hate that!” That statement alone is so full of curiosity, it’s nearly dripping to be read immediately!

Use your curiosity to know and understand the world around you, as well as your love for numbers and data to keep your readers on the edge of their seats. 

People love percentages or variables (7 out of 10 entrepreneurs want XYZ and the reason will shock you”). Can you see how your content can be presented in the Type you are as well as satisfying your love to understand people or things?


The ability to write content that will help your readers be prepared for future problems could be beneficial to those who are like me and wait until a problem arises to act!

Your content can be more about how your readers can find or feel more secure in your expertise or how to find it for themselves. Maybe it’s even helping your audience to ask the right questions in order to maintain a sense of security about themselves, relationships, or anything else.

It’s not a bad thing to be a skeptic, so use that to fuel your content in healthy ways because some of us need more skepticism in our lives so we don’t wind up in pickles like we often do (I’m speaking for myself again).


You love having fun and stay busy having fun. Why not teach that same fun to others? Or perhaps if you’re learning how to un-busy yourself, share that experience as well.

Your content will be fun, creative, and likely all over the place. 

Consider adding hot topics like Gamification to your ability to share how people can have fun at work, with their kids, with chores, or whatever else you find exciting, fun, and adventurous.

But remember, keep your content focus with purpose and intent so that you can stay on topic and on your brand.


Challenge your content by challenging others in their own thought process or beliefs, but please, come from a place of love and compassion if you know you can come from a place judgment or have a condescending tone.

If you know you have the ability to stand up for yourself and your beliefs, why not teach that to your audience? Show them through presentations, blogs, videos, and infographics. 

My challenge is to understand when to stop and be okay with other people conclusions and decisions, especially if they do not believe or think the same way as you do.


As an easy-goer, your content may be more relaxed or have the air of “these are my suggestions.” I almost see you as a person who will write from a suggestion standpoint rather than a “do it this way”, as like a Type 1 or 5.

Consider having a lot of call to actions throughout your content or ask a lot of questions to see what others thing. “What do you think?” or “If you feel differently, let me know.”

Your content can be a lot of questions where you share your thoughts and then end with a question about what others may think. 


Although this is not a complete list of how you can write content based on what Enneagram Type you are, it’s a start. If you have anything to add, please feel free to let me know so I can add it into this blog.
