It is a brand new year and that means a brand new you, business and income levels! How many of you are wanting to increase your visibility and income in 2017? I am raising my hand with you! One of the best ways I know how to raise anyone visibility and awareness is by blogging and I believe 100% that every speaker and coach out there should be blogging. But I also know some of you are not blogging. Many of you are thinking about blogging, but you haven’t made the move.

Why not?

I have often heard these rebuttals when I bring up blogging:

I don’t want to put all my effort and time into a blog that doesn’t bring me back ROI.

I don’t know what to say.

Who would want to read what I have to say?

I feel that blogging is not for me because there are too many blogs and I’ll be lost in a sea of them!

Many of you are wanting to go national or worldwide. How are you going to go worldwide or national? Yes, you can pitch to conferences and speaking seminars, but what about your clients or even potential clients? Did you know that someone may be looking for someone like you right this very moment? And they can’t find you because you’re not blogging. And you know what that means?

You are not driving any traffic to your website, which ranks you low on Google.

Your message is staying local instead of expanding.

No one knows who you are, therefore your business doesn’t grow the way you want it to.

Facebook Fan Page is NOT enough for you to move forward on (plus you’re driving traffic to Facebook rather than YOUR site in which you PAY for).

You have a megaphone called the internet to release your power into the world and you are not using it to your advantage.

Motivational Speaker, author, and writer, Kelly Swanson, talks about why speakers should be blogging and here are statements that she wrote that I agree on 100%:

When you blog, you’re building your list which gives your clients, potential clients and others the ability to see your additional resources through your blog. Kelly says when you’re blogging, you’re able to give your clients or potential clients a way to not only stay in touch, but give them the value they deserve between sessions or between not staying in direct contact with your business.

Blogging will make you aware at delivering your content – which makes you a better speaker and coach. When you’re blogging, you develop a way to communicate your expertise clearer and more methodically. Interviews are easier and if need be, a new speech can be developed quicker because you can use your blog as the main resource!

Blogging makes you the expert. Which makes you look more credible and reliable to people who do not know you. When you blog, you build trust with people who you would have never met otherwise.

It drives traffic to your site. I said this earlier because it’s true! When you take blogging seriously, you will see an increase in your website traffic, which exposes you to a whole new set of people, which means more people to work directly (or indirectly if you offer online courses) with you.

Are you prepared to play big this year? Blogging is a great way to get started on moving your business to building trust, credibility and possibilities! So I ask you, what has been keeping you from blogging? Answer the question in the comments below!
